The Prequel to the One-Day Detox Diet is a 7 day process, which prepares one for their One-Day Detox Diet. One will follow a list of foods to consume during the seven days that are Liver-Loving Foods and Colon-Caring Foods. Then comes the One-Day Detox Diet which ends with the 3-day sequel.
So, here is the Prequel chart / check-off list:
I. Each Day, Choose At Least One LIVER-LOVING FOODS From Each Group
Group 1: The Crucifers (1/2 cup cooked or 1 cup raw)
cabbage, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, broccoli sprouts
Group 2: Green Leafy Vegetables and Herbs (1/2 cup cooked or 1 cup raw)
parsley, kale, watercress, chard, cilantro, beet greens, collards, escarole, dandelion or mustard greens
Group 3: Citrus (1 orange or juice of ½ fresh lemon or lime)
orange, lemon, lime
Group 4: Sulfur-Rich Foods
garlic (at least one clove, minced, preferably raw), onions (1/2 cup cooked), eggs (2), daikon radish (1/4 cup sliced, either raw or cooked)
Group 5: Liver Healers
artichoke (1 small or 4 cooked hearts), asparagus (1/2 cup cooked), beets (1/2 cup cooked or 1 cup raw), celery (2 medium stalks), dandelion root tea (1 to 2 cups), whey (1 to 2 scoops), nutritional yeast flakes (1 to 2 teaspoons)
II. Each Day, Choose At Least Two Of The Following COLON-CARING FOODS
powdered psyllium husks (1 to 2 teaspoons in 8 ounces of water), milled or ground flaxseeds (2 to 3 tablespoons), carrot (1 small raw), apple (1 small raw with skin), pear (1 small raw with skin), berries (1 cup)
III. Each Day, Drink Half Your Body Weight In Ounces Of Filtered or Purified WATER
IV. Each Day, Make Sure You Have At Least Two Servings of Protein
the size of the palm of your hand. Protein in the form of lean beef, veal, lamb, skinless chicken, turkey, or fish OR, if you’re a vegan or vegetarian, at least 2 tablespoons a day of a high-quality blue-green algae or spirulina source
V. Each Day, Make Sure You have 1 to 2 Tablespoons of Oil in the Form of Olive Oil, Flaxseed Oil, or The Woman’s Oil (a Flaxseed Oil-Black Currant Seed Oil Blend)
VI. AVOID The Following Detox Detractors
· excess fat, especially trans fats from margarine and processed and fried foods
· sugar and all its relatives
· artificial sweeteners
· refined carbohydrates, including white rice and products made from white flour
· gluten, found in wheat, rye, barley, and all their products
· soy protein isolates, found in low-car “energy” bars and soy protein powders, and processed soy foods
· alcohol, over-the-counter drugs; and caffeine, including coffee, tea, sodas, and chocolate
· mold, found on overly ripe fruits (especially melons, bananas, and tropical fruits)

This seems very appealing to me. My boyfriend and I have been going through a lot here these last few months and a lot of eating junk food (which is not our usual selves)…We need to get our bodies back on track and he was reading this with me and we both agree to give this a try. Hopefully we’ll start it here this week (he just started a new job and will be gone on training this week so when he gets back)

When I first read the book “The Fast Track One-Day Detox Diet”, my husband and I both went on it. I think it helps to complete the detox with someone. I encourage you on this adventure. Results are awesome plus it helps our body. Double plus in my book. Good luck and thanks for reading!
